Board Members

The Manchester Education Foundation is managed by a board of directors made up of residents of Manchester, alumni of the MLSD, and business owners in and around the community. The current Board is made up of the following individuals:

Jack Daniels - Chairman
Jack moved to Manchester in 1996 and fell in love with the community. He is the father of three teenagers who have attended Manchester Schools since Kindergarten. Jack is the president and owner of Kandel Transport and Kandel Cold Storage. He has also been active in the YMCA Indian Guides program since 2005.

Ed Ganley - Treasurer
Ed and his wife Judith moved to Manchester in 1997. They have a teenage daughter who is a graduate of MHS (she is currently in college). Ed is the owner of Summit Accounting and Tax located in Green. Ed firmly believes that one of the pillars of a strong community lies in the education of its youth and therefore wholeheartedly supports the mission of the Manchester Education Foundation.

Tom Knoebel - Secretary
Tom and his wife Jolie (Timura) are both MHS class of 1985 alumni and moved back to Manchester in 2002. Their oldest son graduated from MHS in 2011, their daughter in 2017, and their youngest son in 2019. Tom has served as President of the Manchester Music Boosters, and is currently a software engineer for Tribute Inc. in Hudson.

Dr James Robinson - Ex Officio
Dr. Robinson currently serves as Superintendent of the Manchester Local School District. Mrs Rachel Schutte (MLSD Curriculum Director, pictured above) also serves as an adviser for Classroom Grants, and Mr Joseph Pukansky (MHS Guidance Counselor) serves as an adviser for Scholarships.

Doug Knipp
Doug and his wife Becky have lived in Manchester since 2001. They have one daughter who graduated from MHS and another currently in the Manchester Schools. Doug works as an application engineer for a machine tool dealer, servicing the needs of the manufacturing community. His hobbies include running, reading and playing bass guitar.

Mark Walker
Mark graduated from Ashland High School in 1988 and the University of Akron in 1992. His wife Mary Kay graduated from MHS in 1993 and the University of Mount Union in 1997. They have one son currently attending the Middle School and one at MHS. Mark spent one term on the Village of New Franklin Council. He currently works for The Ohio Department of Transportation in Traffic Engineering, and for Design Realty LLC. as a Sales Agent.

Tammy Mundy
Tammy is a 1982 graduate of Manchester High School. She and her husband Dano have lived in Manchester for almost 30 years. Their two sons graduated from Manchester High School. Tammy has been teaching kindergarten for over 30 years and is currently teaching at Amherst Elementary School in the Jackson Local School District.

Jack Cooper
Jack is a MHS class of 1981 alumnus and is one of 5 brothers who graduated from Manchester. His mother still lives in the community, and his niece and nephew currently attend school in the district. Jack now lives in North Canton and practices commercial law as a partner in Day, Ketterer Ltd. in Canton.

Mark Sipos
Mark is a 1981 graduate of MHS and a life-long resident of Manchester. He has two sons (MHS class of 2011 and 2014). Mark has coached a variety of sports in Manchester for over 20 years at the high school and youth levels, held various board positions within the youth organizations, and served on the school's long-range planning committee. Mark is a CPA and the owner of Arpadian Performance Accounting, in Akron.

Jake McConnell
Jake is a second-generation Manchester graduate, graduating from Manchester in 2005 and Bethany College in 2009. He and his wife Allison currently live in Canal Fulton with hopes of returning and raising a family in Manchester. Jake is currently a member of Laborers' Local 894 and works for Ohio LECET.

Sara Shookman
Sara is a proud graduate of Manchester, graduating as valedictorian in 2005. She's also a graduate of Ohio University's E.W. Scripps School of Journalism. Sara is a journalist at WKYC-TV, where she anchors the 6 and 11 pm newscasts.

Jeannette Eberhardt
Jeannette and her husband Tim, owners of the House of Eberhardt Funeral Home, are 1982 MHS graduates. They live in New Franklin and have attended many football games, band shows, and school plays over the years. Jeannette also works with her family at their Canton Road Garden Center, as well as at ACME Catering as an event planner.

Shawn Knisely
Shawn is a 1986 grduate of Coventry High School, and a 1995 graduate of Kent State University. He has lived in the Portage Lakes area for the better part of the last 30 years. He is the father of two MHS students and married to Laurie Knisely, the MMS art teacher. He has been active in Indian Guides since 2007. Shawn is a Health Care Consultant, contracted to The Cerner Corporation.

Jeff Cady
Jeff and his wife Lisa moved to the Manchester area in 2005. They have three children active in the Manchester school system. Jeff is a graduate from Kent State University and is a software engineer for Cardinal Health in Twinsburg.
